A Commitment That Transcends: Supporting Medical Equipment for Fundación Castro-Limón

The Rotary Club of Tijuana and the Rotary Club of Thousand Oaks are advancing new phases of equipment support for the operating room, CEYE, and hospital areas.

In partnership with Fundación Castro-Limón, we continue advancing high-impact projects to strengthen pediatric oncology care in Baja California, building on a history of support that has generated meaningful results for hundreds of families.

A Commitment That Transcends

The Rotary Club of Tijuana, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Thousand Oaks, reaffirms its commitment to Fundación Castro-Limón, an institution that for 22 years has provided care and hope to children and adolescents with cancer. According to the information presented, the foundation has benefited more than 319 families, provided more than 306,000 services free of charge, currently supports 96 patients in treatment, and has accompanied 132 patients who have been declared cancer-free.

This collaboration is not new. Over the years, Rotary has taken part in a variety of equipment initiatives, including support for the operating room, radiology system, medical equipment, laboratory, procedure room, isolation rooms, and kitchen equipment. In this historic stage, a total donation of $298,500 USD has been reported.

For 2025, the effort is focused on two priority areas:

  • Equipment for the Operating Room
  • Equipment for CEYE – Phase One

The shared material indicates a projected cost of $230,128 USD, of which $81,500 USD have been donated so far.

In addition, a next phase is already being considered for 2026, focused on Equipment for CEYE and Hospital, Phase Two, which includes:

  • Steam sterilizer
  • Chemical analyzer
  • Portable vital signs monitor
  • Diagnostic set with Welch Allyn ophthalmoscope
  • Welch Allyn LED examination lamp
  • Oximeter / vital signs monitor
  • Pedestal aneroid sphygmomanometer

This project represents much more than an investment in infrastructure: it is a concrete effort to strengthen the medical capacity of an institution that serves pediatric oncology patients and their families. We will continue advancing initiatives that create real impact and help expand access to better conditions of care.

Thank you to everyone who makes this effort possible. Together, we continue building hope for life for more children and adolescents.
